Do you need a visa?
If you are an EU or an EEA citizen, you do not require permission to enter Austria. On arrival you must present a valid national ID card or a valid passport. Provided you possess a valid Health Insurance and proof of sufficient funds, you will be allowed to stay in Austria. Please check the following with your national authorities before you leave your home country: if your government has restrictions on the amount of money you can take out of the country; cost of transferring money; how long it will take for you to be able to access the money in Austria; if there are any bank charges for the initial transfer of money; if there will be charges for each separate withdrawal.
Use travellers cheques and/or bank/credit cards whenever possible (as they are insured) and avoid carrying large amounts of money with you.
