The first Erasmus+ Award ceremony hosted by the National Agencies for “Lifelong Learning” and “Jugend in Aktion” took place on December 2, 2015 at the “Aula der Wissenschaften” in Vienna. Awards were presented in five categories: Vocational Education, School Education, Adult Education, Higher Education and Youth.
The purpose of the ceremony was to honor particularly successful projects and its project managers. In addition to mobility projects, also individuals, so-called Erasmus+ ambassadors, were honored for their outstanding commitment to the European educational objectives. All nominations made a valuable contribution to the high quality standards of mobility projects in Education and Youth.
The nominated institutions in the Higher Education category were the PH Wien, the University of Applied Sciences Vienna (FH Technikum) and the University of Applied Sciences Graz (FH Joanneum). The winning Award went to the FH Technikum for the project “Mobility of Students and Staff in Higher Education”.
The PH Wien, as the only University College of Teacher Education, received a prize for its project “Mobility of Students and Staff in Higher Education”. Dr. Thomas Strasser, Head of the Institute of Further Education Qualifications and Educational Cooperation and Dr. Thomas Bauer, Head of the International Office represented the PH at the ceremony and accepted the prize.
